Technology Training

We offer one-to-one technology training sessions to support visually impaired people with the use of electronic devices.

We offer equipment demonstrations that provide assistance and advice on the best way to access and use a range of devices, as well as software. We have an IT suite with computers that can be adapted to individuals’ needs e.g. adjusting size of icons, font size, colour contrast, magnification, and speech.

Whether you’re using technology for the first time, or are tech savvy, we are here to support you. We tailor our sessions to you so that you can get the most out of them. Whether you want to learn how to use a screen reader, want to find out more about what equipment is available to you, or you want to learn how to use your phone as your vision deteriorates, we find solutions to help you continue to access technology and get online.

We provide a bespoke service, initially discussing your needs and aspirations for technology use. From there we build a plan that considers what you want to achieve and we work towards a timescale that suits you.

We welcome you to bring devices of your own that you want to use, so that you can receive training on your own equipment, but we also have equipment that we can offer if you find something more suitable to support you. We usually work together for four sessions of around an hour. However, depending on what you need, we will tailor the service to you.

We have supported people to use:

  • Voiceover for IOS devices
  • Touch Typing
  • Magnification
  • Apps that provide support for specific needs
  • Screen Readers
  • Android Phones
  • Apple Phones

We are always happy to have a go at any new challenges that are brought to us, and always strive to support you. If you would like to book an appointment, please get in touch info@MyVision.org.uk or call 01865 725 595. We also offer phone support as required.

The support to use my Iphone gave me so much confidence, I can now go online and communicate more easily with my family
