Tech Buddy Volunteer:

Time Commitment: 1 hour a week

Do you have an interest in technology and helping others? We are looking for volunteers to provide ongoing support to visually impaired people after their initial technology training sessions, and to be a helping hand for those who are getting to grips with using technology.

Purpose: Meeting with an individual on a regular basis to support them in using their phone, iPad or computer, helping them to use VoiceOver and Siri.

Location: Across Oxfordshire, with some potential home working

Supervised by: Volunteer Coordinator and Technology & Equipment Officers

Duties:

  • Support individuals with using assistive technology.
  • Give people encouragement when using their phone / iPad.

Person Specification and Experience:

  • You have an interest in technology.
  • Patience.
  • Supportive.
  • Volunteers must be 18 or over.

Technology training and visual impairment awareness training will be provided, in addition to a full DBS check. Any reasonable expenses, for example mileage, can be reimbursed.
